# Xypher operational thermodynamics result

## 0. Verdict

**The frozen existence witness passed.** The declared 16-state digital graph
is an operational equilibrium thermodynamic graph system under the independent
T1--T6 definition, and the same object has a literal minimal Crystal + Thermo
+ Praxion decomposition with an empty Ruby and one-state memory.

This is an exact constructive result, not a fitted simulation:

| Question | Result |
|---|---|
| Can at least one purely digital graph be operationally thermodynamic? | **Pass for the frozen finite witness.** |
| Does the witness have the declared minimal Xypher-kernel factorization? | **Pass.** |
| Do the prospective Xypher hazards equal independently enumerated microscopic hazards? | **Pass exactly.** |
| Does the same-temperature contact close with zero equilibrium current? | **Pass exactly.** |
| Do four preregistered broken constructions fail where predicted? | **Pass: all four first failures matched.** |
| Is the object merely an adaptive optimizer or statistical fit? | **No. It is non-adaptive and exactly equilibrium thermodynamic within the declared operational model.** |
| Does this run prove the general representation theorem? | **No. Generality is the separate analytic proof in the frozen boundary.** |

The result is positive without being universal. It establishes one exact
minimal thermodynamic Xypher kernel and, together with the reviewed theorem,
the finite reciprocal equilibrium class characterized by the bridge
conditions. It does not establish that every legacy or adaptive Xypher is
thermodynamic.

## 1. Frozen construction

The mesostate substrate is the reciprocal path

$$
0\leftrightarrow1\leftrightarrow2.
$$

The system energy and Crystal endpoint multiplicity were declared before the
rates were evaluated:

$$
U=(0,1,2),
\qquad
g_X=(1,4,4),
\qquad
S_\tau(x)=\ln g_X(x).
$$

The closed system--reservoir lift has fixed total energy $2$. Its reservoir
energy is $E_R(x)=2-U(x)$, with density of states

$$
g_R(E_R)=2^{E_R}.
$$

Therefore

$$
S_R(E_R+1)-S_R(E_R)=\ln2=\frac1\alpha
\quad (E_R=0,1),
\qquad
\alpha=\frac1{\ln2}.
$$

This fixes temperature from the independently declared reservoir rather than
fitting it from transition rates.

Crystal supplies an executable uniform `REFRESH` endpoint channel. Praxion
supplies reciprocal `MOVE` channels. On the complete fixed-energy lift, the
three mesostate fibers have multiplicities

$$
n=(4,8,4).
$$

For a directed candidate $a:x\to y$, Thermo computes the original one-sided
harness in both orientations,

$$
\mathrm{TAU}_+(a)=\alpha\max(0,\Delta S_\tau(a)),
$$

and the signed affinity energy

$$
\Xi(a)
=\mathrm{TAU}_+(a)-\mathrm{TAU}_+(\bar a)-\Delta U(a)
=\alpha\Delta S_\tau(a)-\Delta U(a).
$$

Praxion uses the predeclared symmetric opportunity activity

$$
c(a)^2=n(x)n(y)
$$

and constructs the finite-temperature hazard

$$
k_\Pi(a)=c(a)\exp\!\left(\frac{\Xi(a)}{2\alpha}\right).
$$

Exact squared-rate evaluation gives the four directed hazards

$$
k_{01},k_{10},k_{12},k_{21}=(8,4,4,8).
$$

Independently, the verifier connects every microscopic state in one adjacent
fiber to every microscopic state in the other with reciprocal unit hazard and
lumps the resulting generator. It obtains the same four hazards and

$$
Q=
\begin{pmatrix}
-8&8&0\\
4&-8&4\\
0&8&-8
\end{pmatrix}.
$$

The exact equilibrium law is

$$
\pi=(1/4,1/2,1/4),
$$

with detailed balance on both edges and local-detailed-balance ratios $2$ and
$1/2$.

## 2. Exact gate results

All preregistered acceptance gates passed:

| Gate | Result |
|---|---|
| G01 complete state and Crystal grounding | **Pass:** 16 states; fibers $(4,8,4)$ equal $g_Xg_R$. |
| G02 executable Crystal `REFRESH` | **Pass:** exact outcomes, $Q_{\mathrm{REFRESH}}=R_C-I$, double stochasticity, energy preservation, and declared entropy. |
| G03 reciprocal `MOVE` generators | **Pass:** common unit reverse hazards and exact row/diagonal closure. |
| G04 pathwise energy accounting | **Pass:** every `MOVE` conserves total system-plus-reservoir energy with zero external work. |
| G05 strong lumpability | **Pass:** every microscopic state in a fiber has identical block sums. |
| G06 macro generator | **Pass:** exact hazards $(8,4,4,8)$. |
| G07 Crystal--Thermo--Praxion construction | **Pass:** prospective hazards equal independently lumped microscopic hazards exactly. |
| G08 equilibrium and detailed balance | **Pass:** weights $(4,8,4)$ and all stationary flux products agree. |
| G09 local detailed balance | **Pass:** exact rate ratios $2$ and $1/2$ follow independently from $S_\tau$, $U$, and $g_R$. |
| G10 minimal-kernel slots | **Pass:** substrate, Crystal, Thermo, Praxion, Action, Resolution, Thaw, empty Ruby, and one-state memory are named. |
| G11 same-temperature contact | **Pass:** conditioned weights $(4,16,4)$ and exact zero signed equilibrium current. |

The contact check prepared two copies against reservoirs with the same
$\alpha$, detached the reservoirs, conditioned on body energy $K=2$, and then
enabled reciprocal unit-exchange channels. The independently prepared product
law and the contact equilibrium both equal

$$
(1,4,1)/6,
$$

and the exact expected energy current into either body is zero.

## 3. Frozen falsifiers

The controls were literal mutations, not alternative fitted models:

| Control | Expected first failure | Observed first failure |
|---|---|---|
| Set $k_\Pi(1,2)=0$ with the reverse retained | reciprocal support | `G07_RECIPROCAL_SUPPORT` |
| Double one forward microscopic hazard only | equal reverse microhazards | `G03_EQUAL_REVERSE_MICROHAZARDS` |
| Change only $g_X(1):4\to3$ | Crystal/fiber grounding | `G01_CRYSTAL_FIBER_GROUNDING` |
| Omit reverse TAU from $\Xi$ | antisymmetry of $\Xi$ | `G07_XI_ANTISYMMETRY` |

All four observed first failures matched their preregistration. This matters
because a verifier that returned `PASS` for every input, silently ignored its
Crystal, or accepted a one-way positive-$\Xi$ gate would fail these controls.

## 4. Scientific interpretation

### What is now established

1. **Constructive existence.** A finite, entirely digital state graph can
carry an exact entropy observable, independently declared energy and
reservoir temperature, reciprocal fluctuations, pathwise energy closure,
local detailed balance, relaxation, equilibrium, and same-temperature
   contact.
2. **Minimal Xypher-kernel existence.** The same operational object is built
as Crystal + Thermo + Praxion rather than relabelled after its rates are
   known.
3. **Exact witness correspondence.** The prospective Xypher pipeline and an
independently enumerated microscopic graph produce the same generator.
4. **Conditional generality.** The separately reviewed representation proof
gives both directions for fixed finite, one-temperature, reciprocal
equilibrium graph systems satisfying the declared completeness,
degeneracy, energy, lumpability, and contact conditions.
5. **The correct role of the minimal TAU harness.** The positive-part formula
is a valid expansion receipt. Its forward-minus-reverse pair recovers the
signed entropy term needed by finite-temperature dynamics.

In this result, "purely digital thermodynamic system" means a digital graph
model satisfying explicit operational stochastic-thermodynamic criteria. It
does not mean that abstract bits have become molecular heat, nor that running
the program creates a new material phase in the host computer.

### What is not established

- `TAU = alpha*max(0,Delta S_tau)` alone is not an equation of state and does
not by itself make a graph thermodynamic.
- A hard positive-$\Xi$ action gate is not a finite-temperature equilibrium
Praxion; reciprocal fluctuations are necessary in this class.
- Ruby, Opal/$\Phi$, Thompson learning, graph growth, multiple Praxions,
infinite-horizon optimization, and consciousness are outside this witness.
- No deployed THAIM or blockchain network was tested.
- The result does not establish a new fundamental law of physics. Local
detailed balance and reversible Markov factorization are established
statistical mechanics. Any novelty claim concerns the Xypher organization
and causal Crystal construction and requires broader literature review.

If adaptive learning is made constitutive of the word "Xypher", the exact
reverse theorem is about a **minimal Xypher kernel**, not every full Xypher:
many thermodynamic systems do not learn. Adaptive Xyphers are a stricter
extension whose extra state and channels must themselves close energy and
entropy consistently.

## 5. Execution provenance
